Ensuring electricity distributor performance delivers consumer outcomes
We want to work with sector stakeholders to establish a clearly articulated view on what ‘good’ performance for an Electricity Distribution Business (EDB) looks like, so we are all clear on prioritised industry outcomes and can ensure our regulatory settings are aligned to promote those outcomes.
This project starts the process of engagement on how and where we could apply stronger and more direct financial and reputational incentives than in the past to promote change where required.
On the 10 September we issued an open letter seeking stakeholder feedback on our indicative vision, the likely outcomes from achieving the vision and illustrative rule changes which could be implemented to align with the vision. This letter can be found in the ‘Documents’ tab below.
The letter outlines a number of questions on which stakeholder feedback is particularly encouraged but stakeholders are encouraged to submit other relevant information beyond those questions. We welcome all feedback on this letter by 5pm, 22 October 2026. Information on how to make a submission can be found at the end of the open letter.
