Merger clearance and authorisation application forms
Where we receive applications seeking clearance or authorisation of mergers or acquisitions under the Commerce Act, an application is required to include the information and documents required by us in prescribed applications forms.
We have published a consultation document on proposed new wording and requirements for our application forms for clearance and authorisation of mergers or acquisitions, along with updated guidance on filing an application. You can read and download this consultation document below.
We are keen to receive submissions and feedback on the consultation document from interested parties. Subject to submissions and feedback received on the consultation document, we intend to finalise and publish new application forms for clearance and authorisation of mergers or acquisitions.
Submissions on the consultation document should be sent to mergers@comcom.govt.nz by 5 February 2026 with the subject line “Merger application forms”.
We will publish non-confidential versions of submissions received on our website. Please see further information in the consultation document on making a submission and identifying confidential information within a submission.
