Fibre Deregulation Reviews
In late 2025 the Commission considered whether there are reasonable grounds to start a fibre fixed line access services (FFLAS) deregulation review under s 210(3) of the Telecommunications Act.
We have found that there are reasonable grounds to review four services. The services are:
- Voice services;
- Transport services;
- Point-to-point services in Non-Chorus Local Fibre Companies (LFC) areas; and
- Co-location and interconnected services in Non-Chorus LFC areas.
We have commenced the deregulation reviews and released a process letter outlining the process we will follow and an indicative timeline for each of these reviews. Detailed timings for each review will be communicated as we move through our process.
We look forward to engaging with our stakeholders through these reviews over the upcoming period.
