Review of Fonterra's farm gate milk price
In 2012 the Government requested that we undertake a dry run review of Fonterra's Milk Price Manual and how it was being applied. It was intended to show how the milk price monitoring regime would work in practice prior to its official introduction in 2013.
This review was not a statutory requirement but was based on terms of reference agreed with Fonterra. The process we followed in undertaking this report was the same as what occurs currently under the monitoring regime.
