StraitNZ Bluebridge Limited t/a Bluebridge Cook Strait Ferries (Bluebridge)

Bluebridge has been warned for a likely breach of section 13(i) of the Fair Trading Act 1986 due to representations it made to consumers about their rights to compensation when a ferry service had been delayed or cancelled. This is because until at least June 2023, Bluebridge’s terms and conditions purported to exclude Bluebridge’s liability to affected passengers for loss or damage occurring from ferry delays or cancellations in circumstances where rights to compensation may be available in law.
