Foodstuffs South Island

The Commerce Commission is investigating Foodstuffs South Island Limited and its interconnected bodies corporate, franchisees, and transacting shareholders in relation to their wholesale obligations. These obligations include notifying the Commission about the operation of their wholesale offers.

The Commission has issued corrective notices as it considers that the Grocery Industry Competition Act (Act) applies to the conduct that is the subject of the notices. Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI) contends that the Act does not apply and therefore that there has not been any contravention of the Act.
