Foodstuffs North Island

The Commerce Commission is investigating Foodstuffs North Island Limited and its interconnected bodies corporate, franchisees, and transacting shareholders in relation to their wholesale obligations. These obligations include notifying the Commission about the operation of their wholesale offers.

The Commission has issued corrective notices requiring compliance with sections 40 and 41 of the Grocery Industry Competition Act (Act) as it considers the Act applies to the conduct being investigated. Foodstuffs North Island (FSNI) contends that the Act does not apply.
