Euro Corporation Limited
Euro has pleaded guilty to 14 charges under the Fair Trading Act in connection to false or misleading and unsubstantiated representations made in relation to the supply of its “earthquake grade” steel mesh, known as SE615. The company misled consumers by representing that the steel mesh was independently tested and certified, complied with the applicable standard and was of a particular grade when it was not, and it did not have reasonable grounds to represent it as such. The District Court imposed a total fine of $361,000 on the company.
