Westpac New Zealand Limited

Westpac New Zealand Limited (Westpac) has been warned by the Commission for potentially breaching the Fair Trading Act 1986. The potential breach relates to Westpac’s failure to apply the benefits of its Work Hard Play Hard promotional campaign to certain customers’ credit card accounts. The Commission’s view is that Westpac may have made a false or misleading representation concerning the existence of a right in connection with the supply of goods or services in contravention of section 13(i) of the Fair Trading Act 1986.
