Reckitt Benkiser (New Zealand) Limited

In December 2015 Reckitt Benckiser (New Zealand) Limited (RBNZ) entered into Court Enforceable Undertakings with the Commission where it agreed to stop selling products in its Nurofen Specific Pain range by March 2016 and that it would apply a temporary label on the products in the interim. On 3 February 2017 RBNZ pleaded guilty to 10 charges for making representations on its website and on packaging giving the impression that the Nurofen Specific Pain range of products were specifically formulated to target a particular type of pain, when this was not the case. It was fined $1.08 million.
