Foodstuffs North Island Limited
Foodstuffs North Island has been warned for a likely breach of section 19 of the Grocery Industry Competition Act 2023. The warning is for failing to deal with a supplier’s price increase request in good faith and within prescribed timeframes, as required by clauses 6(1) and 28(2) of the Grocery Supply Code. We have issued a Disclosure Notice to FSNI in respect of this warning. The Disclosure Notice requires FSNI to display information about the warning in specified ways for a period of six months. Our reasons for issuing the Disclosure Notice are to assist suppliers to participate confidently in the grocery industry via an increased understanding of the Code and to highlight the promotion of fair conduct between regulated grocery retailers and suppliers as regulated by the Code.
