Callplus Services Limited

Callplus Services Limited (specifically two of its retail brands, Slingshot & Orcon) has been warned for likely breaches of sections 11, 13(e) and 13(h) of the Fair Trading Act. Callplus engaged in conduct liable to mislead the public as to the characteristics and/or suitability of its wiring & maintenance service by offering it for sale to naked fibre customers and invoicing those affected customers for the service, despite it being unsuitable for naked fibre broadband connections. Callplus made misleading representations that naked fibre connection customers had a use, benefit, or need for the wiring & maintenance service by invoicing those affected customers for the service and by failing to inform the affected customers (and any potential naked fibre broadband customers) that the service was not applicable/beneficial for those connections.
