First Mart Limited

1st Mart Limited (trading as First Mart) pleaded guilty to one charge that, between December 2015 and January 2018, it imported over 800 units of a car toy which resembled the ‘Peppa Pig’ brand of products and supplied 540 units to various retailers. The Commission alleges the toys were unsafe. 1st Mart Limited was fined $45,000 in the Manukau District court on one representative charge that it supplied toys which failed to meet the mandatory standard for toys for children aged 36 months and under.
