Telecommunications Act: Commerce Commission releases draft determination on wholesale application

The Commerce Commission today released its draft report on TelstraClear Limited's application for a determination to permit the resale of some services offered by Telecom New Zealand Limited. This draft determination deals with the terms, including price, for the wholesaling of a number of Telecom's retail services to TelstraClear. Telecom New Zealand Limited has applied to the Commerce Commission under section 42 of the Telecommunications Act for pricing reviews in respect of the Commission's interconnection determination released on 5 November 2002. The Telecom applications for review relate to the price of interconnection with the Telecom network, and with the TelstraClear network for toll bypass calls, toll-free and payphone calls and call origination for premium rate and 50XY services. This follows an earlier application by TelstraClear for a similar pricing review.Relates to: Telecommunications

The Commerce Commission has today released a draft determination in relation to an application by The Marketplace Company Limited, the market administrator of the New Zealand Electricity Market (NZEM). The application was for authorisation of an arrangement that would require, after a delay of 14 days, the disclosure of bids to purchase electricity and offers to sell electricity through the NZEM.
