Commerce Commission to determine interconnection between TelstraClear and Telecom networks

The Commerce Commission today announced it would investigate TelstraClear Limited's application for a determination regarding interconnection with Telecom New Zealand Limited's fixed Public Switched Telephone Network and reciprocal interconnection by Telecom with the TelstraClear network.

Auckland trader fined $5,000 for envelope stuffing scam

12 June 2002

Auckland trader Gregson Cretchein Mathews was fined $5,000 in the Auckland District Court today for breaching the Fair Trading Act in relation to a "work from home" scam. In addition, Mathews was fined $500 solicitor's fees and $130 court costs.

Electricity Governance Board : conference details

The Commerce Commission will hold a five day conference on Wednesday 12 - Friday 14 June, and Wednesday 19 - Thursday 20 June, on its draft determination relating to an application by the Electricity Governance Board for authorisation of an arrangement that proposes to restructure the basis under which electricity is raded.

Misleading representations cost Star Corporation over $50,000

7 June 2002

Star Corporation Limited was fined $48,000 plus court costs of $3,120 in the Waitakere District Court this week for misleading conduct regarding false statements about two mobile telephone directories. Star Corporation pleaded guilty to 24 breaches of the Fair Trading Act.
