Kaitaia capacitor bank project overspend
Introduction
On 29 March 2011, Transpower New Zealand Limited applied to the Commission for an amendment of the approved expenditure for the Kaitaia capacitor bank project from $2,600,000 to $2,848,119. The former Electricity Commission approved this project on 9 March 2006 as one of the projects included in the Grid Development Proposals. Details on these Grid Development Proposals and approvals are on the Electricity Authority's website.
Transpower sought approval under rule 17.2 of section III of part F of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003.
Decision
On 21 June 2011, the Commission agreed to amend the approved expenditure for this project to $2,848,119.
