Information Disclosure

The 2011 amendments to the Telecommunications Act 2001 introduced new information disclosure requirements for the companies building the UFB fibre network and Chorus’s copper network.

The local fibre companies (LFCs) are the four companies that will build fibre networks as part of the Government’s ultrafast broadband network (UFB) initiative. The LFCs are Chorus, Enable Networks, Ultrafast and Northpower Fibre.

On 3 October 2011 the Commission issued a consultation paper on the information disclosure requirements for LFCs.

On 23 April 2012 the Commission called for submissions on two draft determinations and a discussion paper on the information disclosure requirements for LFCs.
