On 24 December 2004, TelstraClear Limited and Telecom Limited applied to the Commission for a determination for designated multi-network services under the Telecommunications Act 2001 in respect of the local telephone number portability service and the cellular telephone number portability service.
A final determination on cost allocation as well as functions and standards was issued on 31 August 2005 and has been clarified since then.
