On 13 December 2011, Transpower submitted for approval to the Commission an economic investment proposal for upgrading Bunnythorpe Haywards lines A and B. Â
Transpower's application
Transpower has to replace the conductors on the Bunnythorpe Haywards lines by 2018 due to their deteriorating condition. Transpower's analysis shows that there are economic benefits in taking this opportunity to upgrade the lines from the present summer/winter rating of 307/355 MVA to 355/390 MVA. Transpower submitted this proposal under the EGR and is seeking approval for $130.5 million.
