This publication outlines the conference (and related) procedures for: Applications for clearance and authorisation of business acquisitions under the Commerce Act 1986 (section 66 and 67); and, applications for authorisation of restrictive trade practices (section 58).
The purpose of this paper is to draw up a set of guidelines for use in assessing the public benefits and detriments arising from a lessening in competition or an acquisition or strengthening of dominance, in context of authorisation applications under ss58 and 67 respectively of the Commerce Act 1986.
