Investigations Overview

Under Schedule 3 of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Commission may, on its own initiative or if requested to do so by the Minister of Communications, commence an investigation into whether any new telecommunications services should be regulated under the Act or whether any currently regulated services should be altered.

The Commission has decided to conduct the following investigations:

Mobile termination access services

Resale Services

The Commission is required under section 19A of the Act to “… have regard to any economic policies of the Government that are transmitted, in writing, to the Commission by the Minister.” The Commission has received the following statement of Government economic policy:
