When the Commission was considering whether to recommend to the government the regulation of voice call termination rates charged by mobile operators, it was suggested by some industry parties that the Commission should, in the course of that investigation, also investigate the merits of recommending regulation of voice call origination rates charged by mobile operators, where that origination service is used in the supply of toll-free services.

On 29 November 2004, the Commission made a decision that it was not satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for a full investigation into mobile origination rates. Click here to link to the media release issued by the Commission in relation to this decision.
