Discussion Paper on Proposed Draft Guidelines

This Discussion Paper sets out the Commerce Commission’s current approach to the labelling and promotion of genetically modified foods (GM).

It is intended to assist discussions with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) in preparing joint guidelines. Joint guidelines will enable manufacturers to more easily and accurately label food exported between the two countries, and would therefore enable consumers to be more confident in the information provided to them.
