Fibre Content Labelling

The Consumer Information Standards (Fibre Content Labelling) Regulations 2000 require most new textile goods to comply with the standard AS/NZS 2622:1996 : Textile products - Fibre content labelling.

The standard sets out two methods of designating fibre content, and specifies the way in which the products must be labelled.  A method for assessing fibre content is also specified.

The standard covers most textile goods including carpets.  Second-hand goods are not covered.
