Electricity Lines Businesses: Commerce Commission issues ODV Handbook

The Commerce Commission today issued its new Optimised Deprival Valuation (ODV) Handbook, which prescribes the methodology for valuing the system fixed assets of electricity lines businesses. This work is part of the Commission's development of a regulatory regime for lines businesses under Part 4A of the Commerce Act.

Narva New Zealand Limited and Repco Limited have pleaded guilty to breaching the Fair Trading Act in relation to a misleading Projecta battery charger cash back offer. The two cases were heard separately in the Auckland District Court with Narva fined $1,000 in June and Repco $5,000 yesterday.
